Pergolas, Ramadas & Patio Covers

Arizonans are constantly looking for ways to beat the heat! With swimming pools being the number one investment for those looking to cool off when it hits 100 degrees, you can bet creating shade follows a close second.

Unique Companies has many different ways of creating a covered patio. As licensed general contractors, we are one of the only landscape and pool companies that can legally build one of these structures with one of our custom landscape and  pool projects. We have many different types of structures available but the most popular are the pergola or a Ramada.

If you’re looking to completely block the sunlight than a solid top pergola or Ramada is the right choice.  If you only need partial shade than a trellis top may be a better choice.  Trellis top pergolas can be built of wood or Aluma-wood.

You also need to decide what type of material you want your shade structure to be made of.  To match your homes exterior you may choose block and stucco columns with a roof that matches your home’s roof.  This type will cost the most but will also give you full shade and be the easiest in getting homeowner association approval.  The Aluma-wood products are also available for pergolas with solid tops and can be built on top of basic steel posts or dressed up with stone columns or one of the decorative manufactured aluminum columns.

Ramadas and pergolas are ideal for an outdoor space that is designed to be an extension of the living environment. It is easy to include details such as a fireplace or barbecue under the shade. You can also include a flat screen TV and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen under your shade structures to make it a full featured entertaining area.
