Unique Misting System

Unique Misting System

The temperatures in Arizona will be warming up soon and many people head for a refreshing dip in the pool. But how can you beat the heat outside the pool? One way to keep your outdoor space cooler and guests more comfortable is by including an outdoor misting system.

An outdoor misting system is a series of tubes and nozzles connected to a compressor that delivers water in a very fine mist, so fine that it serves to cool the air rather than just deliver moisture. The larger the area to be covered and the higher the tubing and spray heads are hung, the higher the pressure needed to deliver the cooling mist. So the cost of your misting system can be affected by the size and power of the compressor needed to deliver the water into the air. Compressors with higher pressure will be more expensive than smaller less pressurized ones.

Mist systems do more than just cool patios and outdoor spaces. They also suppress dust, help to eliminate odors, and are also a very effective method for keeping plants cool, moist and thriving in the hottest summer months.

Best Location to Install
The best place to install a misting system depends on the layout of your backyard. You can put them around the rim of your pergola or patio cover or go from bottom up: misting from the deck floor or patio floor. If you have a covered outdoor area that is very large, or has high ceilings, hard to reach areas, or is an odd shape that forces extra pipes or a second generator to reach all the different areas, then the costs of your installation can go up considerably. For bigger spaces, a higher pressure system is better for optimum efficiency and cooling.

Misting systems provide the following benefits:

• Mist cooling can reduce the temperature up to 30 degrees Fahrenheit in very dry climates
• Misting Systems Create a Tropical Feel
• Enjoy Patios and Outdoor Spaces Throughout the Year with Misting Systems
• Misting Systems Enhance Property Value

As with any outdoor cooling system, the overall effectiveness of the mist system will depend on existing temperature, the humidity levels, and the air exchange rate. With high temperatures (above 80 degrees Fahrenheit) and low humidity levels (below 50%) the mist system results can be dramatic especially when there is constant air exchange within the patio. Fresh incoming air is quickly cooled without causing an uncomfortable increase in humidity levels. As with any evaporative cooling process, the more moisture evaporated, the greater the systems outdoor cooling capability.
