This Gilbert Luxury Estate Has Its Own Lazy River

YES it’s true… it has its own lazy river!

This Mediterranean-style Gilbert, Arizona estate (video below) is its own luxury resort and home all in one. In addition to floating around their own compound, the home owners can cook outdoors in their outdoor kitchen area, shaded by a pergola or they can relax in the amazing spa on the island in the center of the lazy river pool. They can also watch TV under the custom built Ramada.

This place is seriously like an adult playground.

Before developing this cutting-edge recreational space, the homeowners had to consider all that was required to create their backyard oasis. Working with the talented and skilled designer/engineer, Chris Griffin, the owner of Unique Companies, was a vital first step in realizing their long-held dream. They wanted an elaborate, resort style backyard and with over an acre of property to work with, there was plenty of space to make this project work.  Designing the amazing 120 foot lazy river pool was the best way to take advantage of their large backyard. The engineering and hydraulics in designing this pool were challenging and complicated but with Chris’s experience and help from our vendors they were able to ensure the pool had the proper equipment and horse power to move the water around in a slow moving current with ease.  Another fun aspect of the pool are the deck jets and water features that spray into the pool and land on whoever is floating by to cool them off.

The  patio area was extended to include an outdoor kitchen and BBQ with a pergola shading the area.  On the other side of the backyard a large Ramada was built with a small casita and bathroom inside. Under the Ramada they have a cozy seating area where they can watch TV and enjoy the warmth of the fire in the fireplace. In the middle of the lazy river pool is an island with artificial grass and beautiful plants and flowers that add a pop of color to the backyard. Also on the island is a large spa with therapy jets and a beautiful travertine step spillway. There’s a 12 foot bridge they can walk over to get to the island as well. The bridge is custom made from iron and composite decking. The main focal point of the backyard besides the pool is the 800 square foot rock waterfall. This backyard is truly amazing and it’s like having your very own water park in your backyard.
