Custom Pool Features
Upgrade Your Pool with Our Custom Pool Features!
Water features and waterfalls are the ultimate focal points for any pool. Crafting and designing these stunning features takes years of practice, as well as plenty of trial and error. Fortunately at Unique Companies, we proudly boast our own team of waterfall specialists who have mastered the art of creating everything from freeform rock waterfalls to architecturally-inspired columns with spilling pots and water sheers. Our wealth of experience in the construction of water features, coupled with Chris Griffin’s engineering degree, means that Unique customers can always expect awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind creations.
Of course, not all pool companies in Arizona can guarantee such high-quality, custom-built waterfalls and water features. In fact, many of these companies will simply subcontract the work to various third-party plumbers, masons, and laborers. But Unique is different – we pride ourselves on constructing every aspect of our water features and waterfalls in-house, using only the most skilled craftsmen for each and every pool project.
Our team of swimming pool and spa designers, for instance, boasts almost two decades of experience designing pools and water features. This vast wealth of experience and creativity allows them to create some of the most original and impressive waterfalls in the industry. From natural boulder waterfalls to foaming fountains and sheer descents, our portfolio of water features is unmatched. We’re just as comfortable crafting massive artificial rock waterfalls, grottos, and slides as we are designing more modest, minimalist water features.
Whether you have a specific vision in mind for your next swimming pool waterfall or water feature, or you’re looking for a collaborative partner who can help you bring your dream to life, Unique Companies has the experience, skill, and creativity to get the job done. Waterfalls and Grottos
Most popular with freeform and lagoon-style pools, waterfalls can be constructed of a variety of stone and stone-look materials and in any size and scale. An especially popular trend is a larger-scale waterfall that creates a hidden, swim-in grotto, equally perfect for an exciting childhood adventure or a romantic stolen kiss!
Bubblers
Bubblers are playful, gurgling fountains usually placed on steps or a tanning ledge that splash up from under the water. This creates a more unpredictable, free-form fountain that invites splashing good fun!
Deck Jets & Laminars
Deck Jets use air to shoot streams of water from the deck into the pool. Laminars arc across the swimming pool for an elegant and fun addition to your swimming pool. They make for particularly fascinating water features at night when backlit with LED lights. Your kids will love chasing the glowing water!
Zero-Edge Pool
A zero edge pool is designed so the water level is perfectly flush with the surrounding deck or coping. The water spills evenly across all edges into a hidden gutter, creating a mirror-like effect. It’s a minimalist and modern design that works well with flat landscapes.
Lautner Edge
A lautner edge combines the elements of zero and negative edges. It features water flowing over the edge into a hidden gutter, similar to zero edge, but with a sharper, cleaner look. Often, it has a slightly raised rim to enhance its sleek and precise aesthetic.
Lazy River Pools
Sheer Descents
Sheer descents are water features that gently pour into the pool from pool or spa walls and come in configurations as various as a “sheet of glass” effect to sheets of rain-like droplets. They range in size from a few inches wide to several feet for a plethora of elegant looking applications, all providing the soothing sound of falling water!
Raised Spa
A raised spa not only makes easier access to the spa, but adds a luxury element to your backyard. A raised spa stands out in the design as opposed to a pool level spa.
Tanning Ledge
Tanning Ledge, commonly called a sunshelf or baja bench; a flat ledge typically located at the entrance of the pool. This tanning ledge is the perfect location for a lounge chair or the sun-worshipper who wants to avoid getting overheated from the sun or fully submerged while enjoying the pool.
Pool LED Lighting
The use of LED lighting in your backyard poolscape adds a whole new dimension to the look you’re trying to achieve. Whether you’re incorporating LED accent lighting throughout the project or into custom features like rainfalls, bubblers, and steps, a little illumination goes a long way.
Swim-up Bars
Swim-up bars are a great way to bring the fun of having a cocktail or food served to you in the pool, because if you don’t have to get out, why would you? These areas feature built-in bar stools made of stone, tile or precast finishes and a bar that can be adorned in glass tile or beads. The options are endless.
Fire Features
Adding fire features to your pool creates a beautiful and dramatic ambiance. Watch the dancing flames come alive at night, making for an attractive focal point in your backyard space.
